The Work

As an Administrative Assistant (General), you will play a key role in enabling the Union's organising and representative work by keeping information and communication systems running smoothly and efficiently.

  • Maintain and support effective information and communication systems across the Union.
  • Ensure timely and accurate flow of information to support the work of relevant Departments and Divisions.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support tailored to the needs of the specific Department or Division.
  • Liaise with other internal teams to coordinate activities and ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Communicate professionally with external stakeholders, including members of the public where applicable.
  • Contribute to efficient and effective services that enable the Union to fulfil its representative and organisational commitments.

The Person

The ideal candidate is an organised, detail-oriented administrator who enjoys supporting others and helping systems run smoothly. You bring strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Experience in administrative or office support, ideally within a complex or multi-department organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage information, documents and communications accurately.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Comfortable working across different teams and adapting to the needs of various Departments or Divisions.
  • Customer-service orientation, with a commitment to delivering efficient and reliable support.
  • Adaptable, proactive and willing to learn new systems and processes as the Union evolves.
