About Your New Job

As Accounting Manager, you will join the EMEA Controller Team in a shared services environment and report to the Finance Director.

You will:

  • Manage and develop a team of 2–3 qualified accountants.
  • Oversee financial accounting activities, including monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
  • Take ownership of the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, including reconciliations and quarter-end reporting.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and US GAAP lease accounting for the relevant entities.
  • Coordinate statutory audits, US GAAP year-end audit clearance and financial statement preparation.
  • Oversee corporate income tax returns, tax audits, tax authority enquiries and tax compliance activities.
  • Manage VAT compliance and reporting.
  • Lead cash flow and balance sheet forecasting, cash management and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and corporate financial policies.
  • Support M&A integration activities and other ad hoc finance projects.
  • Work closely with European Controllers, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Tax and external advisers across multiple locations and time zones.

What Skills You Need

  • Fully qualified accountant with an ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Ideally 5 years+ post-qualification experience.
  • Strong experience in financial statement preparation and financial accounting.
  • Good working knowledge of GAAP; US GAAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous leadership or team management experience.
  • Experience with audit, tax, VAT, balance sheet reconciliations and financial close processes.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Ability to meet immovable deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multicultural, matrix organisation across multiple locations and time zones.
  • SAP experience and exposure to a multinational environment would be advantageous.
