About Your New Job
As a 360 Excavator Operator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring excavation and groundwork activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will work closely with the site management team and groundworkers to support the successful delivery of the project.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operating a 360 Excavator safely and efficiently on a busy construction site.
- Carrying out excavation works for foundations, drainage, utilities, and other civil engineering activities.
- Digging trenches and preparing ground in accordance with site drawings and specifications.
- Backfilling, grading, levelling, and reinstating ground as required.
- Loading dumpers and moving materials safely around site.
- Working in close proximity to underground and overhead services while following all safety procedures.
- Assisting groundworkers and other site personnel when plant operation is not required.
- Carrying out daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks on the excavator.
- Reporting any defects or maintenance issues to site management promptly.
- Following site instructions from the Foreman and Project Manager.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety regulations, company procedures, and wearing the appropriate PPE.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience operating a 360 Excavator on construction or civil engineering projects.
- A valid CSCS 360 Excavator Ticket (essential).
- Safe Pass (essential).
- Manual Handling certification (essential).
- Experience working around drainage, utilities, and groundworks is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of safe excavation practices and health & safety procedures.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a site team.
- Good communication skills, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Own transport is advantageous but not essential depending on location.
