Rachel O'Donovan

Recruitment Consultant, Office Support

I am a Recruitment Consultant within the Dublin Office Support Team here at Sigmar Recruitment after joining the team in July 2025.

I graduated with a B.B.S of Business and Management - majored in HRM from Maynooth University in 2017 and realised my values aligned with people management, HR and Recruitment, hence the specialisation.

I have over 8 years of experience within the HR and Recruitment Industry and have worked within Agency Recruitment for the last 3.5 years.  Prior to my time within the Agency space, I worked in Internal Recruitment and HR Generalist roles.

In 2019, I decided I wanted to travel and relocated to Australia, all on my very own. What was meant to be one year of travel turned into Covid lockdown and then living on a Regional Farm in the middle of Far North Queensland picking Peppers for a living. I then travelled the country living in pockets of the country such as Perth, Gold Coast, Melbourne and then settled down in Sydney. I also had a bucket list moment and given my location in the world, I was lucky enough to tick off a bucket list and visit Fiji!

After six years and in May 2025, I decided it was time to move back home to Dublin to be around my family again and I am delighted to be home and part of Team Sigmar - back in my hometown!

Specialist Areas
With my University Degree in Business and Management (HRM specialisation), I realized I wanted to work with people and more importantly for the people.

In my current role with Sigmar Recruitment, I specialise in Office Support, hiring candidates in an array of roles such as Reception, EA, Administration, Customer Service, Front of House, Coordinators and so forth.

Prior to this role, I worked in Healthcare Recruitment, working on the Psychiatry Division. I recruited all Junior Level Psychiatrists into Public and Private hospitals nationwide across Australia on Locum Contracts. Prior to Healthcare, I worked in a very similar role within the Office Support Industry recruiting both Permanent and Temporary roles. Following my graduation from University, I worked as a HR Account Manager in a generalist role where I provided HR and Employment Law support.

As an experienced Recruitment Consultant, I pride myself on my skillset which I believe to be communication, preparation of legal documentation, compliance, conducting background checks, administration, employment law, learning and development, people and culture and overall, 360 full life cycle recruitment.
