About Your New Job

• Participate in troubleshooting and problem resolution: Handle troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure issues.
• Align engineering solutions with the Technology strategy: Support the application’s requirements and manage project requirements and customer expectations.
• Implement common changes and service requests: Plan and implement procedures to maximize engineering and operating efficiency for application integration technologies.
• Provide leadership to the team: Take accountability for the technology assets owned by the team and achieve the following objectives:
  • Design, configuration, implementation of middleware products and application design/development within the supported technologies and products.
  • Proactive monitoring and management design of supported assets assuring performance, availability, security, and capacity.
  • Maximize the efficiency (operational, performance, and cost) of the application assets.

What Skills You Need

• Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the following specific technologies:
    • IBMi (AS400) Operating System management including applying PTFs, OS upgrades, backup and IPL
    • IBMi (AS400) Command Line programming
    • Third Party Vendor Software Upgrades
    • IBM Power hardware with VIOS, VIO management and upgrades
    • Management tools including HMCs and NIM
    • Proficient with IBM BRMS and native IBMi Backup and recovery techniques
    • Networking, VLAN tagging, Etherchannel, Shared Ethernet Adapters (SEA)
    • Automation / scripting ability
  • Demonstration of following professional skills:
    • Collaboration
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Process and technical documentation creation
• Required Experience & Education:
  • 13-16 years of experience
  • At least 5 or more years of experience within the related platform.
  • Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions.
  • College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
