Sigmar Recruitment are working alongside a leading construction company in the West of Ireland who are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team in Galway! 

Our client is a leading Construction Company, operating as a main contractor who specialises in Commercial & Fit-Out, Civic & Amenity, Education, Conservation & Restoration, Healthcare, Pharma & Industrial, Tourism & Leisure and Residential!

About Your New Job

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparation of inhouse tender review presentations.
- Attend site visits to appraise new projects as part of the tender bid process.
- Preparation of consultant, subcontractor and material packages for pricing using latest estimating software.
- Review and preparation of consultant, subcontractor and materials cost analysis for cost comparison purposes.
- Measurement of work as required in accordance with ARM 4 and updates.
- Continuous management of tender documents.
- Preparation of tender queries and management of mid tender clarifications / addendums.
- Preparation and pricing of tender documents.
- Identification of project risks, management and pricing of same.
- Establish opportunities for alternatives and value engineering proposals.
- Pricing and review of preliminaries for sign off.
- Completion and submission of tender in accordance with Instructions to Tender.

What Skills You Need

- Minimum of 3 years of working as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in Ireland

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics preferred

- Strong analytical and numerical skills

- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

- Ideally Main Contractor Experience
