About Your New Job
- Install, customize, support, and maintain DB2 Subsystem and related products.
- Maintain baseline operations for the DB2 test and production environments.
- Provide technical support and problem determination for both systems and applications teams.
- Support the recovery of system enterprise amid disaster recovery exercises.
- Take ownership role for and resolve highly complex or critical incidents within the mainframe DB2 environment.
- Provide project consultation to business application teams that use DB2.
- Identify DB2 Performance and Tuning opportunities. Work with business applications on changes as needed.
- Be able to work off hours as needed to support product maintenance and installs.
What Skills You Need
- Education: Any bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 13-16 years of experience required.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- OS/Subsystem/environment: z/OS, DB2, TSO/ISPF, CICS, UNIX Systems Services.
- Software: SMP/E, IPCS, Tivoli-Monitoring, Microsoft Office products, Omegamon.
- Languages: COBOL, Assembler, JAVA, MVS/REXX, ISPF Dialog.
- Self-Starter and self-motivated.
- Leadership skills: ability to coach, mentor, and provide direction for junior technical resources.
- Required strong interpersonal, collaboration, and team skills.
- Effective oral and written communication is needed.
