About your new job:
They are currently hiring for a solicitor to join the Regulation & Compliance team who will be responsible for managing the growing workload of all legal activities relating to the gas and electricity supply, renewables, trading and energy services business on behalf of the company.
- Supporting the gas and electricity supply, energy services, renewables and trading teams in drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of commercial, operational and/or offtake agreements.
- Provide dedicated legal support on a range of renewable energy projects and structures including wind, solar PV and biomethane.
- Maintain and update the standard energy supply, trading, energy services and renewable agreements in both gas and electricity.
- Provide commercially focused legal advice on all aspects of a growing energy business and developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the energy sector.
- Advising on general business law issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, regulatory and safety issues.
Who you are:
- Qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE
- Expertise / relevant experience of the SEM; knowledge of other wholesale electricity markets.
- Enjoys complex technical material with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in one of the following desirable as: energy or similarly licenced utilities or other related energy activity.
- Experience of drafting and negotiating complex commercial and/or corporate contracts.
