About your new employer: My client manufactures sub-components for the global medical device industry and is currently experiencing rapid expansion. To meet the increasing customer demand for new projects, we need to add a Manufacturing Engineer to our Engineering team, focusing primarily on supporting on-site manufacturing.

About your new job as a Manufacturing Engineer: The individual will collaborate closely with Operations, Project Engineering, and Quality teams. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable to the evolving needs of the business and can work independently to enhance on-site products and processes. Additionally, the position involves interacting with customers to implement manufacturing methods that meet their requirements.

Your duties will include:

  • Offer engineering support for daily manufacturing operations.
  • Provide technical expertise in setting up new manufacturing processes and lines.
  • Conduct and support process validation activities.
  • Prepare proposals for new equipment and liaise with suppliers.
  • Lead product certification activities with external organizations.
  • Obtain quotes and compile project costings for approval.
  • Develop process-related documentation prior to validation.
  • Plan and execute projects in collaboration with Project Engineering.
  • Review and implement enhancements to the Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Update process documentation and work instructions for better usability.
  • Prioritize and manage workload for concurrent activities.
  • Proactively engage in continuous improvement activities on-site.

What skill/experience you need to be a Manufacturing Engineer

  • Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project management experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with CE Marking processes and experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Plastic Injection Moulding and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project, Minitab, or equivalent.
