Retail Sales Assistant 

Location: The east side Galway City, this store is very close to bus routes and has plenty of free parking.

Type of contract: Permanent

Hours of work:  Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and occasional Saturdays (8.30am to 2pm on a Saturday).

Pay: €13.50 - €15.50 per hour, depending on level of experience

About Your New Job

• You will be greeting Customers entering the shop & assisting them with finding the goods they need 
• Informing customers on the technical benefits of the products (these products will include; trade, building and DIY safety equipment)
• Processing Cash & Card Payments 
• Locating stock in the Warehouse on site
• Reporting Discrepancies & Issues to Department Manager 
• Dealing with Customer Refunds 
• Experience operating a forklift is advantage but this is not essential

What Skills/Experience You Need

• Previous experience of working in Trades/Agriculture/Building/Safety/DIY or a similar role is desirable as you will be dealing with queries around related products. This experience is not essential though. The ability to provide a great customer service and to look after customers is the most important requirement for this role.
• Polite, patient & helpful, the ideal applicant will have excellent people skills and have a friendly & engaging personality 
• Flexible, reliable and Pro-active attitude with ability to bring new ideas / initiatives to the store.
