Job description


•A BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying, min 2:1.

•Preferably a Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (MSCSI) or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

•Two years of recent practical experience in a PQS environment

•A proven ability to prepare and price (based on recent practical Irish experience) budget reconstruction estimates with minimum information available for a range of commercial buildings but mainly for shell and core office developments and fit-outs.

•Experience using Buildsoft

•Excellent MS Excel skills.

•Excellent communication skills, exceptional oral and written communication capabilities.

Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core responsibilities:

Reconstruction Cost Estimates

•Independently preparing detailed and robust reconstruction estimates based on very limited information (typically using publicly available price indices).

•The reconstruction estimates typically include significant mechanical, electrical and lift packages.

•The successful candidate must be able to price the estimate in a manner that is robust and defendable, as it may be subject to challenge in the event of a Revenue Audit

Construction Cost Analysis

•Liaising with project design teams to procure all relevant cost control documentation required and to get an understanding of the capital project.

•Analysing and reconciling construction cost documentation including the following:

•Priced Bills of Quantities

•Reconciliation of the tender cost documents to the Contract Sum

•Nominated Sub Contract Packages (typically mechanical and electrical installations)

•Variations, PC Sums and Provisional Sums

•Final Account Reports

Carrying out reconciliations as necessary in order to be able to demonstrate a detailed and thorough knowledge, after the fact, or what costs were actually incurred during the project.
