Job description

Job title: HR Manager

Reporting into: Director Site Operations

Direct reports: 1 x HR Administrator

Industry type: Medical Device

Contract type: Permanent

Location: County Galway (East)

The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily activity of the HR function including; ER, Comps and Bens, Resourcing, Training & Development and Business Partnering.

The responsibilities of the successful HR Manager job:

  • Ensure that necessary HR processes, policies & systems are in place and effectively communicated internally.

  • Partner closely with the Director of Site Operations to maximize employee engagement across the site.

  • Take prime responsibility for dealing with difficult employee situations, giving guidance to management on grievance and disciplinary situations.

  • Develop and implement HR Metrics for the site.

  • Provide direction & leadership to the Site HR Administrator while continually developing her exposure to HR best practices.

  • Attract & retain employees to meet business objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with other HR practitioners in the community while utilizing access to organizations like CIPD & IBEC for the benefit of the HR function on site.

  • Keep constantly up to date on any changes in Labour legislation and ensure that Ireland HR Policies & practices are updated.
  • Building open and trusting relationships throughout all levels of the organisation.

 

The skills and competencies required for this HR Manager Job:

  • HR or Business related degree with at least 5 years experience in a progressive HR function. The last the 2-3 at HR BP or Manager level.

  • Demonstrable detailed working knowledge of the function of HR.

  • Proven track record in relationship building, strong communication, presentation, influencing & negotiating skills.

  • Analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Team player.

  • Highest levels of integrity.
