About Your New Job

  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of critical utility systems, including HVAC, water systems, compressed air, power distribution, and waste management.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), EHS (Environmental Health and Safety), and other regulatory standards.
  • Manage budgets for facilities and utilities, optimizing cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of performance and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency, incorporating innovative solutions and sustainable practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and other personnel responsible for facility operations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility services, ensuring quality and compliance with contract terms.
  • Develop and execute emergency response plans related to facility and utility systems.
  • Oversee construction, renovation, and upgrade projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to standards.
  • Provide support and guidance on minimizing repeated breakdowns/deviations by ensuring implementation of corrective actions against identified root cause.
  • Manage facility and utilities to ensure areas are audit ready.
  • Support the implementation of the Operational Excellence/6S program on the site by managing staff to identify and implement improvements.

What Skills You Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in maintenance and engineering within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP, EHS, and relevant regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proven expertise in maintaining pharmaceutical utilities, including HVAC, water systems, compressed air, refrigeration, and cleanrooms.
  • Proficient in the use of CMMS platforms such as SAP or Maximo.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies, including PLCs and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team development, training, and performance management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
