This is an hourly-rate contractor job for six months.
About Your New Job as Senior EHS Specialist:
As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in their commitment to process safety management (PSM). I am seeking an experienced professional with a minimum of five years' hands-on experience in PSM, including HazOps and Atex expertise.
In this role, you will lead the process safety steering team onsite, overseeing and enhancing their safety programs to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the process safety steering team to drive continuous improvement in process safety performance.
- Develop and implement strategies and programs to ensure compliance with PSM regulations and standards.
- Conduct hazard identification studies, including HazOps, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and manage risks associated with process safety.
- Review and enhance Atex compliance processes and practices.
- Analyze incident and near-miss data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety training initiatives to educate employees on process safety best practices.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to process safety.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company's compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert in process safety and provide guidance to various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in process safety management.
- Proficiency in HazOps and Atex standards and practices.
- Strong knowledge of regulations related to process safety.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Certification in process safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP, or similar) is a plus.
