Are you a qualified accountant ready to take the next step in your career and move towards a Financial Controller position?

Our client, a successful and growing SME based in Dublin 11, is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded accountant who is eager to take full ownership of the finance function and become a key member of the senior management team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong industry experience who wants to progress into a Financial Controller-level role and gain end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of finance within the business. i am not considering qualified accountants coming from practice for this you must have the industry exposure 

The Role

Reporting directly to senior management, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function and play a key role in supporting strategic business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the month-end close process and ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
  • Taking ownership of financial controls, processes and reporting
  • Managing cash flow, budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all finance-related queries
  • Supporting year-end audits and statutory compliance requirements
  • Providing financial analysis and insights to the senior management team
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
  • Taking full responsibility for the overall finance function within the business

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years' post-qualified experience
  • Currently working in a Senior Accountant, Finance Manager or similar industry-based role
  • Experience within an SME environment is essential
  • Background within construction, manufacturing, distribution or a similar operational industry
  • Strong financial reporting and financial control experience
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
  • Commercially focused with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Please Note

Applications from candidates moving directly from practice will not be considered. To be suitable for this role, you must currently be working within industry in an SME environment with responsibility for core finance operations.

Candidates must also have a valid visa permitting them to work in Ireland.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary circa €70,000
  • Benefits package
  • Hybrid working model with four days in the office (flexibility to reduce to two days where required)
