About Your New Job
As the Senior Accountant, you will:
- Lead the preparation and review of year-end accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation and income tax filings.
- Maintain excellent relationships with a portfolio of clients through regular contact, advice, and proactive support.
- Be the go-to expert for clients with complex technical queries on tax, compliance, or reporting matters.
- Provide advisory services such as cash flow planning, profit improvement, and restructuring.
- Manage, support, and develop junior and intermediate accounting staff, including performance reviews and technical training.
- Ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance through structured review processes and coaching.
- Foster a collaborative, problem-solving environment where staff are encouraged to develop professionally.
- Work closely with the Partners to identify growth opportunities, improve internal systems, and deliver strategic projects.
- Play a hands-on role in business development, including proposals, onboarding, and new service lines.
- Implement and optimise workflows using best-in-class accounting and cloud tools (Surf, Relate, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, etc.).
What Skills You Need
- ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in an Irish accountancy practice
- Excellent technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and VAT
- Demonstrated experience managing a team and a portfolio of clients
- Highly proficient in cloud-based and traditional accounting platforms
