Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team

About Your New Job

As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in all stages of the project, from tendering and procurement to project completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow and take on more responsibility in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and final accounts for construction projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of subcontractor bids.
  • Manage cost reporting and ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and advise on any potential cost variations or issues.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and value.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and ensure adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues.
  • Assist in preparing monthly valuations, including interim payments and final accounts.
  • Support in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and project financial reporting.

What Skills You Need

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project cost management.
  • Experience with project management software and cost control tools (e.g., Excel, BuildSoft, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Full understanding of health & safety regulations and construction site practices.
  • Ideally, experience working with an Irish contractor or on Irish-based projects.

Desirable:

  • Professional membership of a recognized body, such as the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Knowledge of the Irish construction market and local building regulations.
