About Your New Employer:

Our client provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.  They are seeking an experienced Pensions Advisor, to join their Dublin based office, reporting to the Senior Corporate Finance Director and on a full-time permanent contract.

About Your New Job:

  • Preparation of high-quality reports, including reviewing of same, to provide independent and objective advice to Government Ministers and Departments regarding pension matters in relation to the State-owned companies.
  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the team including assisting other team members in interpreting and analysing the pension disclosures in financial statements and other reports
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working largely independently across several ongoing complex assignments, while liaising with the Senior Corporate Finance Director as appropriate.
  • Act as a point of contact and assist the Senior Corporate Finance Director in managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, in particular, Government Departments and relevant commercial State companies.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 7 years in a relevant financial role working in pensions consultancy, with experience of preparing actuarial valuation reports, actuarial funding certificates, and pension disclosures under FRS102.
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while simultaneously seeing the bigger picture enabling them to make informed recommendations
  • Advising companies on their pension liabilities.
  • Advising companies and trustees on restructuring of pension schemes, severance schemes and public sector occupational pension schemes
  • Strong financial and commercial analytical skills
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while simultaneously seeing the bigger picture enabling them to make informed recommendations
  • Project management skills
  • A self-starter who can work on their own initiative while also having the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills both written and interpersonal, with a proven ability to communicate effectively at a senior level with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient with MS Office – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Degree in a financial or mathematical discipline (2.1 or higher)
  • Membership of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland
