About Your New Employer 

• Our Client develops branded and private label seafood products for the Irish and European retail market 
• A family business, operating in the seafood industry for over 30 years 
• Based in Scenic West Cork with an outlet in Cork City 

About Your New Role 

• Ensuring all new products are consistently delivering for the consumer while meeting the agreed standards for the product
• To take lead and assist on NPD & EPD projects through the NPD process for concept to Launch, working cross functionally to deliver innovation and renovation projects.
• Ensuring 100% compliance with all policies and legislation & the agreed standards of the product, customer and business are met
• Coordinate the daily NPD process of line extension and brand pack -resizing projects from project brief, right through to launch
• Developing a clear and concise understanding of the business priorities and playing a vital part in delivering the guiding principle of lowest cost
• Liaising with Key Account Retail Customers and delivering NPD projects at Customer meetings and action/resolve any project issues that arise, seek guidance for the NPD account manager where necessary
• Contributing to, and taking lead on innovative R&D Projects
• Continually researching markets and technologies to develop new product concepts

What Skills You Need 

• A Third level degree in Food Technology, Food Science
• 5 years hands on experience in a Food Development Role in the FMCG sector.
• Excellent Project management, communication, negotiation and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of benchmarking as well as Product and Packaging cost modelling
• Good Working knowledge of pack copy process and packaging management tools
• A love of food, Fish and the latest trends
• Quality systems e.g. BRC Standard, HACCP systems, Allergen control, ETC
• Good technical knowledge of specification and customer systems such as TTL, WAVE, Igloo or similar
• Availability for flexible working hours and travel
