About Your New Job

  • Position: Mechanical Technician
  • Location: Dublin, Ireland

As a Mechanical HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day running of all elements of reactive and planned maintenance on the contract.
  • Fault finding and repair of comfort cooling & CRAC units.
  • Safe handling of refrigerant and pressurised gases.
  • Delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance in line with the contract.
  • Implementing reactive maintenance, including responding to and closing tickets through the client’s online ticket system and CMMS/CAFM system.
  • Devising preventative measures to avoid equipment breakdown and maintain business continuity.
  • Creating and maintaining asset lists and historic records.
  • Researching and developing proposals to improve HVAC system performance.
  • Reviewing third-party risk assessments and method statements, and awarding permits through the permitting system.
  • Managing onsite minor works projects.
  • Assisting project teams on large-scale refurbishments, fit-outs, or new builds associated with the contract.
  • Attending client meetings when required by the Contract Manager.
  • Maintaining and tidying plant areas.
  • Completing weekly building walkthroughs to identify any electrical issues needing attention.
  • Providing technical cover on some bank holidays (on a rota basis within the team).
  • Performing work on a shift basis, outside of normal working hours and areas.

What Skills You Need

  • HVAC qualification and relevant experience.
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills for HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Safe handling of refrigerant and pressurised gases.
  • Ability to manage both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
