About Your New Job
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful completion of project bids. Your role will involve analysing project specifications, calculating costs, and preparing bid proposals. Some of your duties will include:
- Analysing project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope of work and materials required.
- Calculating the costs of materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services needed for the project.
- Preparing detailed and accurate bid proposals for submission to clients or project managers.
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Identifying potential risks and uncertainties in the project and incorporating contingencies into the estimate.
- Assisting in the development of project budgets and ensuring that estimates align with financial constraints.
- Maintaining detailed records of estimates, bids, and project costs for future reference and analysis.
What Skills & Requirements You Need
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working in a building services role for an M&E contractor, Main Contractor, or an M&E Consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing.
- Proven experience in cost estimation and bid preparation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
What’s on Offer
The successful candidate will be paid a salary of circa €60,000 - €75,000 DOE. The company also provides a pension contribution, bonus, death in service, phone, and laptop.
