About Your New Job
- Assist Generator Mechanics: Help replace and repair worn and defective parts, re-assemble mechanical components, change oil and filters, and perform other routine mechanical tasks.
- Install and Maintain Generators: Install new generators and complete allied works to set up power generating stations in compounds and offices. Maintain equipment by completing inspections, preventive maintenance, and correcting deficiencies.
- Technical Support: Review system user manuals and technical engineering schematics to assist with maintenance issues and clarify complex technical problems.
- Diagnose and Repair: Identify and repair issues found during initial testing, change filters, and perform standard services on units.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with the Service Manager on project progress and estimates. Prepare generators for shipment and perform other duties as required.
What Skills You Need
- Educational Background: Secondary Diploma required. Certificate in electronics and mechanics highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators and electrical appliances.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to complete various forms and records, including requisitions, repair, and servicing forms.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to understand and communicate in English.
