About Your New Employer:

A global leader in transport infrastructure with a strong footprint in Ireland, offering solutions across road maintenance, construction, and bitumen product distribution. Operating from over a dozen locations across the island, this organisation is known for its innovative, sustainable approach and collaborative culture. This is a unique opportunity to join an established international group in a broad in-house legal role supporting both Irish operations and wider regional activity.

About Your New Job:

You’ll join the in-house legal function as a legal counsel, acting as a key advisor to senior management on a wide range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues. This is a varied role with exposure to strategic projects, cross-border M&A, corporate governance, and high-value commercial contracting. You’ll work closely with business teams, external counsel, and international stakeholders across the group.

What You Will Do:

  • Support senior management across legal areas including corporate, commercial, competition, construction, procurement, and compliance
  • Advise on corporate structuring, governance, regulatory licensing, and entity management
  • Support on M&A activity, including joint ventures and partnerships
  • Draft and review company policies and procedures
  • Provide legal input on tender reviews, contract negotiation, and bespoke commercial agreements
  • Liaise with group legal and HQ on matters such as parent company guarantees (PCGs)
  • Select, instruct, and manage external counsel as needed
  • Deliver legal training and practical advice to commercial and operations teams
  • Ensure compliance with group-wide ethics and compliance programmes

Who You Are:

  • A qualified solicitor (or equivalent), ideally with 3+ years’ PQE
  • Strong corporate law background — experience from a top law firm highly valued
  • Previous in-house experience and/or experience in the infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors is advantageous
  • Familiarity with insurance or procurement frameworks a plus
  • Confident reviewing high-value and complex commercial agreements
  • Comfortable operating in a multi-jurisdictional, cross-functional environment
  • French language skills a bonus, though not essential
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to communicate legal advice clearly to non-legal stakeholders

What’s On Offer:

  • A broad, strategic in-house legal role with international reach
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture with access to a strong global legal network
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Opportunities for career growth, progression, and innovation
  • Flexible working arrangements and a supportive leadership team
