About Your New Job as a Junior Quantity Surveyor
- Assist with cost management and reporting on projects from inception to completion.
- Support senior quantity surveyors in preparing and evaluating tender documents, contracts, and budgets.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and advising on any potential cost issues or risks.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and valuations.
- Help with procurement processes and negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure costs are controlled and projects are delivered within budget.
- Assist in the management of change orders and variations.
- Help in managing contractual claims and ensuring compliance with the contract terms.
What Skill You Need
- A minimum of 6 - 12 months experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the Irish construction industry.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or studying towards a qualification).
- Strong understanding of construction processes and cost management.
- Proficiency in using cost management software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive approach and eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
