About Your New Job

  • You must support advancement of lean manufacturing principles and practices across the plant.
  • You must provide technical support and project management support to manufacturing teams to initiate and sustain Kaizen/ continuous improvement.
  • You must mentor lean champions to support lean initiatives across production units.
  • You must provide training and ongoing support on existing lean "tool kit", refining and improving these tools and introducing new ones where necessary.
  • You must promote, educate, and instil a culture of identification and elimination of waste throughout the plant within manufacturing areas.
  • You must identify improvement opportunities and initiate project teams and plans to address, provide support, direction and facilitate the removal of barriers to ensure successful outcomes.
  • You must generate and maintain data for managing business, such as method studies, time and motion studies, and work content graphs.
  • You must maintain a database of lean projects with associated targets and metrics to be used to prioritise critical tasks based on the impact on VOP.
  • You must ensure lean activities and projects are linked such that the entire value stream is addressed and maximum benefit is extracted from Lean activities.
  • You must review requests for changes to facility layouts and proposing summary options for review/ approval.
  • You must support the strategic space plan by keeping layouts current.
  • You must demonstrate good working knowledge of industrial engineering tools & practices and using this knowledge and expertise to continually drive improvement in process/equipment design, layout and operational performance.
  • You must maintain an up to date database of standard times, populated IE tools and core metrics for the area of responsibility.

What Skills You Need

  • You must have a level 8 degree in a relevant discipline 
  • You must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • You must have good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
  • You must have a proven ability to work well as part of a team & on own with minimum supervision.
