About Your New Job
As an HGV Qualified Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and functionality of heavy vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and using advanced diagnostic tools to keep equipment running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy commercial and industrial vehicles, including equipment such as forklifts, agricultural machinery, and vehicles with complex hydraulic systems.
- Work on diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other mechanical components, ensuring the vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance on various vehicle systems such as steering, clutches, and suspension.
- Document all work performed and provide accurate estimates of labor and parts required.
- Use modern diagnostic tools and follow safety procedures to maintain a high level of workmanship.
What Skills You Need
To be successful, you will need:
- Previous experience working on heavy commercial vehicles, including diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and execute instructions.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- A strong understanding of safety practices in a mechanical environment.
