About your new job:
- Our Client is looking for a motivated and solution-oriented Safety & Health Representative with experience in small works projects to develop and implement a safety management system for maintenance activities on a healthcare campus in Cork.
- The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders and possess exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- They will work independently and as part of a team to assess current organizational structures and work practices, evaluate potential hazards, and conduct thorough risk assessments.
- The Safety & Health Representative will also provide comprehensive health and safety education and support to employees, managers, and third-party contractors, develop operational procedures and policies, advise the client on their compliance with regulations, evaluate contractors' competence, conduct regular inspections, and create essential safety documentation.
- These positions are site-based and require the successful candidate to maintain regular communication and reporting to an off-site supervisor.
What skills you need:
- A degree in engineering or a related construction discipline with recognized safety and health training.
- Experience in successful delivery of healthcare projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Desirable: Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland, IOSH or similar.
- Desirable: Experience of developing/implementing safety management systems (to Safe T Cert, ISO 45001 or OHAS 18001).
- Desirable: Experience of acute healthcare campus environment.
