About Your New Job as a Health and Safety Officer

  • Ensure Compliance: As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct Inspections: Regularly inspect sites to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Incident Management: Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.

What Skills You Need

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Qualifications: Relevant health and safety qualifications.
  • Driving License: Ideally, you should be a car driver to travel between sites in Sligo town and surrounding areas.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills to identify hazards and implement safety measures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively train and guide staff.
