Head of Financial Reporting

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join a leading distribution business based in West Dublin as Head of Financial Reporting.
This is a senior finance position offering significant exposure across multiple Irish and European entities. The successful candidate will take ownership of all financial reporting activities, consolidations, statutory accounting requirements, and broader finance responsibilities across the group.
This is an individual contributor role, making it ideal for a technically strong accountant who enjoys taking ownership, working autonomously, and operating as the reporting expert within a complex multi-entity environment.
The Role
Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting across multiple entities while maintaining strong financial controls, governance, and compliance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
- Preparation and review of consolidated group accounts across Irish and European entities
- Management of month-end and year-end close activities
- Preparation of statutory financial statements and liaison with external auditors
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Management of intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Driving improvements in financial reporting processes, systems and controls
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support senior management decision-making
- Partnering with operational and commercial teams across the business
- Supporting strategic projects and other finance initiatives as required
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong post-qualified experience within the distribution sector or a similar industry such as manufacturing, wholesale, supply chain or logistics
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, consolidations and technical accounting
- Experience managing reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of statutory reporting and audit requirements
- Previous exposure to Irish and European operations is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the reporting function
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
