My client an SME within the Health and Wellness space have a requirement for a Qualified accountant who has worked within a Head of Finance/ Senior Financial Controller in an SME. You will have exposure to managing all aspects of finance and be the key finance person for all decisions related to finance within the company. You must be coming from an SME to be suitable for this role and will sit on the Board and need this experience in recent roles

About Your New Job
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax compliance.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis and manage cash flow effectively.
- Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Process payroll for all staff accurately and on
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
- Handle payroll queries and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure all payroll taxes and deductions are calculated correctly and remitted timely.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Irish GAAP within agreed deadlines for review by the CFO.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management, Board of Directors and external stakeholders and regulators.
- Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the company's financial practices remain compliant.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, including system implementations and process improvements.
What skills you need
- Qualified accountant (ACA /ACCA /CIMA/CPA)
- Worked as Head of Finance within an SME in the retail or similar Industry
- Boards experience – reporting and presenting to the board- if you have sat on the board in previous roles this would be an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good ability to multitask
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written with Key stakeholders ie
Accounts Team ,Internal Departments, Customers and Suppliers.
- Have had experience at a high level dealing directly with the Revenue and Banks
- Highly motivated with an ability to take ownership and with strong attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability
