About Your New Job
- Assist in the preparation and submission of Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) and
Disability Access (DAC) applications. - Review architectural drawings and specifications for compliance with fire safety
requirements. - Prepare fire safety reports and supporting documentation for regulatory
submissions. - Undertake site inspections during construction to monitor compliance with
approved fire safety designs and statutory requirements. - Inspect fire compartmentation, means of escape, fire stopping, passive fire
protection measures, and fire safety installations. - Prepare site inspection reports and identify areas requiring corrective action.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, building control authorities, and
clients on fire safety matters. - Assist with fire strategy development for new and existing buildings.
- Review and assess proposed design changes for fire safety implications.
- Maintain accurate project records and contribute to quality assurance
procedures.
What Skills You Need
- Degree in Fire Engineering, Building Surveying, Architecture, Architectural
Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of fire safety legislation, building regulations, and fire engineering
principles. - Strong technical, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD/BIM software would be advantageous.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
Desirable - Experience in fire engineering consultancy, building control, architectural
practice, or construction. - Familiarity with Irish Building Regulations, particularly Technical Guidance
Document B (Fire Safety). - Knowledge of Fire Safety Certificate and Disability Access Certificate application
processes. - Experience carrying out construction site inspections and compliance
assessments. - Working towards or holding membership of a relevant professional institution.
