About Your New Job

As the Financial Controller, you will report directly to the Managing Director and Board, taking ownership of all financial management, systems, and back-office functions 

You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure financial stability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management accounts, board reports, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Oversee audit, compliance, payroll, tax, insurance, and financial control frameworks.
  • Drive profitability and margin improvement across the organisation.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), identifying risks and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Oversee systems and process improvements, leveraging technology such as Power BI, SQL, and AI tools (e.g. CoPilot, ChatGPT) to enhance reporting and efficiency.
  • Act as a hands-on business partner to the leadership team, supporting decision-making, tenders, and new investments.
  • Lead and develop teams across finance, IT, procurement, and office functions.

What Skills You Need

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CMA), with at least 5 years PQE
  • Proven experience in a similar level leadership role is essential
  • Previous people management experience, with demonstrable experience developing and motivating teams.
