Financial Controller
Dublin 4 | FMCG / Retail Sector
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a successful and growing organisation based in Dublin 4.
This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded finance professional who has previously worked as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance position within the FMCG or retail sector. Industry experience is essential and applications from candidates without relevant sector exposure will not be considered.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls, and effective management of all accounting activities.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in supporting business performance and driving financial best practice across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all aspects of month-end and year-end reporting
- Preparation and review of management accounts and financial statements
- Maintaining and enhancing financial controls across the business
- Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes
- Overseeing audit preparation and acting as the key point of contact for external auditors
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations and accounting processes
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Supporting senior management with financial planning and strategic initiatives
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience working as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role
- Previous experience within the FMCG or retail sector is essential
- Strong financial reporting and accounts preparation experience
- Excellent financial control and governance knowledge
- Proven audit management experience
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across the business
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
