About Your New Job as a Financial Accountant 

This job description sets out to define the job role of a Financial Accountant, but it is not wholly
inclusive. The core objective of this role is to support the business in achieving its objectives through
the following activities:

• Financial Accounting function within the business
• Systems & Continuous Improvement
• General duties to support the business

Duties as a Financial Accountant: 

• Assistance in the preparation of monthly management accounts. Posting jnls, Creating and posting Accruals , prepayments , Analysis of costs
• Preparation and reconciliation of Cashflow
• Assistance in Annual Forecast
• Assistance in preparation for available grants
• Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
• Support on cost reduction programmes
• Support of tax incentive applications
• Act as cover for staff in the finance team in managing workloads and covering periods of absence as they arise.
• Active involvement in the day to day running of the business
• Ad hoc projects as required o Responsibilities
• Responsible for Balance sheet account reconciliations
• Responsible for Management of the stock function.
• Responsible for Debtors and Creditors Reconciliations, Collections and Payments
• Responsible for Tracking and consolidation of all major contracts
• Responsible for Preparation and filing of various statutory returns. o Systems & Continuous Improvement
• Contributing to projects and systems development, actively interacting with all functions of the business to lead changes in these area’s o General
• Promote the aims and objectives of the company
• Support self in operating in support on QMS requirements, re SOP, policy and training adherence and related activities
• Communicate and meet with clients and suppliers as required
• Other ad hoc reporting and duties as required
• Engage with the team in a progressive, engaged manner in support of the business goals and objectives

Education & Experience Required:

• Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CPA with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a Financial Accountant Role
• Strong business acumen – broad understanding and involvement in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, motivated, self-starter
• Ability to multiple task in a fast changing environment
• Computer literacy and a high level of excel expertise
