About Your New Job

  • Oversee developments: Manage projects at various stages from early concept, acquisition, planning, design, procurement through to delivery and handover.
  • Manage meetings: Attend and manage design, technical, and contractor meetings, ensuring follow-up actions and administration are completed.
  • Lead appointments: Oversee the appointment of design teams, professional service providers, and construction contractors.
  • Budget management: Prepare and take responsibility for development budgets, collaborating closely with the finance team and other key stakeholders.
  • Feasibility studies: Lead initial site feasibility studies, identifying development opportunities and constraints.
  • Stakeholder interaction: Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities, utility providers, and landowners.
  • Monitor progress: Report on project progress, costs, and quality, taking timely actions to prevent programme and budget over-runs.
  • Mitigate bottlenecks: Identify and mitigate bottlenecks in the design and construction processes, recommending strategies.
  • Project close-out: Ensure projects are closed out from practical completion to post-occupation, including final account, safety file documentation, and statutory compliance.
  • Transition management: Work with internal teams to transition completed developments to operational management.
  • Tenant relationships: Foster strong working relationships with prospective tenants and their technical representatives.
  • Development management: Assist with planning, environmental, statutory, legal, tenant relationships, and sustainability aspects of development management.
  • Sustainability leadership: Drive the company's leadership position in sustainability by designing and delivering buildings that achieve the highest standards.
  • Sustainability reporting: Implement the Sustainable Development Brief on all projects and report sustainability-related information to the Sustainability Department.
  • Continuous development: Broaden expertise to challenge and add value to climate risk and sustainability programmes through further training and development.
  • Quality and safety: Maintain a constant focus on quality and safety when visiting and inspecting projects.

What Skills You Need

  • Education / Qualification within Construction or Project Management
  • Successful record of delivering large scale projects in the Irish real estate space (residential or commercial)
  • Chartered status is highly desirable.
  • Ideally 5+ years’ experience gained in the design and delivery of residential and/or commercial construction projects.
  • Leadership skills: Strong ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Project management: Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
