About Your New Job
- Cleaning and Sanitation: As a Custodian, you will clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, classrooms, hallways, and other designated areas. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors, emptying trash and recycling bins, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting furniture, and restocking supplies.
- General Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, and unclogging drains. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor and assist with setting up and breaking down furniture or equipment for events.
- Building Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness of exterior areas, such as sidewalks and entrances. Ensure that all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained, and follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Safety: Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
What Skills You Need
- Previous experience in custodial or cleaning work is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and products.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Good communication skills in English.
