About Your New Job
- Prepare and cook meals according to provided menus, recipes, and production schedules.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations (TB MED 530, Tri-Service Food Code, etc.).
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including equipment and utensils.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper holding temperatures are maintained.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down serving lines.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Follow established procedures for waste disposal.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or food safety concerns to the Food Service Manager.
- Assist with remote site meal preparation and packaging as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Skills You Need
- Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a large-scale food service environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles.
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
- Skill in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Food Handler Certification required.
- Ability to pass required medical screenings (TB Med 530).
