About Your New Job
As a Design Engineer in the Wastewater Division, you will:
- Develop design documents, technical drawings, and details for wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Ensure all designs prioritise safety, environmental performance, constructability, and commercial efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams covering civil, hydraulic, environmental, structural, and project management disciplines.
- Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to support the design process and approval.
- Undertake site visits and technical assessments to inform and validate design decisions.
- Identify and implement opportunities for sustainability and innovation in design solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry standards, guidance, and technology through continuous professional development.
What Skills You Need
- Proven experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
- Experience in a similar design engineering role, preferably on Uisce Éireann wastewater projects.
- Strong understanding of wastewater infrastructure design requirements and project delivery.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver practical, robust solutions.
- Initiative, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously when required.
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism and motivation.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline (Level 7/8 or equivalent) is desirable.
- Progress toward professional accreditation is an advantage.
