About Your New Job
Please note, this is a temporary position.As the Metrology/Calibration Technician, you will:
- Calibrate electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards.
- Test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain various types of measuring and indicating instruments.
- Set up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts of test equipment such as pressure gauges and tension meters.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Provide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
- Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems.
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures, and perform detailed mathematical calculations.
What Skills You Need
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician
- 4+ years experience in medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated industries
- Proficiency with DMAIC problem solving
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of calibration and measurement principles, including measurement uncertainty, measurement traceability, measurement standards, test uncertainty/accuracy ratios, measurement system analysis (MSA), SI units, calibration intervals, and out-of-tolerance reporting.
- Experience with Metric measuring systems and the ability to perform mathematical conversions.
- Experience maintaining equipment service records and system logs or manuals.
- Knowledge of calibration equipment standards, including test uncertainty ratio and test accuracy ratio analysis.
- Familiarity with regulations such as FDA 21 CFR Part 820 cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10012, and ISO 17025.
- Familiarity with organizations related to metrology, measurements, or standards such as NIST, BIPM, NCSL, ASTM, ASME.
- Hands-on mentality and eagerness to learn.
