About Your New Job
As a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the resilience of my client’s operations, ensuring their ability to continue functioning during critical incidents or disruptions. You will be a key advisor to the Executive Management Team and a close collaborator with the Corporate Risk Manager. Your expertise will guide the development of business continuity strategies, ensure effective communication during crises, and oversee the regular testing of contingency plans. This role is integral to maintaining the organization's operations and mitigating risks across all departments.
Your New Role
In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and refining the business continuity strategy by analysing potential risks and impacts across various functions. You will work closely with ICT and other stakeholders to develop and implement detailed recovery plans. A significant part of your duties will involve leading risk assessments, coordinating incident responses, and managing communication protocols during emergencies. You will also oversee regular testing and training sessions to ensure readiness. Maintaining thorough documentation, ensuring compliance, and fostering continuous improvement will be key aspects of your responsibilities.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Degree or 3rd level professional qualification (QQI Level 8 or higher) in a relevant discipline
- Minimum four years demonstrable experience in similar role at a large organisation working in the area of Business Continuity Planning and/or risk management in a complex business environment.
- Understanding of corporate governance processes and procedures, and assurance frameworks for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and plan BCP strategy based on own evaluation of priorities.
- Clear understanding of risk management processes and integration of mitigation plans.
