Finance Manager - 9 Month Contract - 67K

Job description

Join a health insurance company based in City Centre Dublin where you will drive their finance function on a minimum 9 month contract basis where you will bring your people management experience and strong technical accounting ability to the forefront. 

This initial 9 month contract roles pays €67,000.

*The full interview and on-boarding process of this role will be carried out via video due to the current COVID-19 pandemic*

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts;
  • Analysis and review of the Annual Claims submitted by the insurers;
  • Analysis and review of the Annual Returns submitted by the insurers;
  • Analysis, interrogation and review of interim claims submitted by the insurers on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts and reports;
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements
  • Lead the year end audit with the Comptroller & Auditor General 
  • Review of quarterly stamp duty returns
  • Responsibility for the Treasury function
  • Annual on-site inspection of the insurers to assess compliance with Regulations.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring that changes to assumptions and financial impacts are captured within budget

Essential:

  • Hold a professional accountancy qualification and be admitted to membership of a recognised professional body of accountants;
  • Have at least 7 years’ satisfactory relevant experience as a professional accountant or equivalent experience in ideally a public sector accounting environment
  • Experience in financial management including budgeting and treasury functions;
  • Experience of internal and external audits;
  • Experience in financial systems particularly SAGE Accounting;
  • Appropriate experience of managing finance teams;
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and as leader of a group.
  • An ability to work and deliver results within tight deadlines

Highly Desireable:

  • Public sector / specific Health Insurance experience
