The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible to lead an external communications function to deliver effective communications across a wide range of external stakeholders.
Working with the external communications team you will have the responsibility for implementing public engagement, public affairs, corporate and media relations across the country.
Develop and implement an external communications strategy for promoting the company across the country
Develop relationships with the media and act as overall gate-keeper and co-ordinator for all media queries
Lead and manage the development of the brand through advertising, events, sponsorship and PR activities
Working with the external communications team to ensure technical and complex subject matter is communicated successfully and consistently to non-technical audiences.
Ensure that policies and procedures are aligned with best practice
Provide Communications advice and support to the Executive Management Team
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience of working in a busy external Communications or Public Relations role
Relevant third level qualifications in Communications or Public Relations
Experience in developing and implementing external communications programmes
Strong understanding of public accountability requirements
Knowledge of working in the community/public sector/ agricultural sectors would be a distinct advantage
