Procurement Officer

Job description

My client is a main contractor for the construction industry looking for a Procurement Officer to join the team based in Dublin North. The salary is 40k - 45K

The duities of the job: 

  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Keep a PO data base on all separate contract files for review weekly / monthly if required
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • Keep a constant check on stock levels
  • Develop a purchasing strategy
  • Produce reports and statistics on spending and saving
  • Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives

Requirements of the job:

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Numeracy skills in order to analyse facts and figures
  • A flair for negotiation and networking
  • Microsoft / computer skills

  • Flexible in work requirements in other areas to help out
