Job description

Core Responsibilities



  • Active member of the management board.
  • Develops, recommends and monitors all BU technology spend including ongoing delivery of value.              
  • Focal point for all technology related initiatives within the BU.
  • Works with the Capability & Solution Leaders, Epic Owners, RTE’s and Product Owners to ensure progress on each ART to meet commitments for the BU.
  • Participates in applicable PI planning sessions when necessary to provide BU perspective.
  • Manages communications with BU Leadership on status of strategic objectives/commitments; facilitates assessment of trade-offs, when required.               


Transformation Program Management

  • Accountable for the planning and implementation of the Technology strategy that supports BU transformation.
  • Alignment of technology strategy with business goals and accountability for an efficient and effective business support by the technology teams (e.g. harmonizing of technology landscape). 
  • Being a trusted technology advisor to the business unit.
  • Definition and implementation of technology governance structure.
  • Accountable for definition of key indicators / measures for the measurement of the IT goals together with the Strategy capability.
  • Accountable for planning, budgeting, coordination and implementation of requests and projects (product portfolio management) in line with capability portfolio functions.
  • Accountable for the organization and maintenance of internal BU customer relationships.
  • Accountable for the Technology budget planning and allocation back to the BU.
  • Personnel and professional leading of business-education and awareness.
  • Accountable for identifying, installation, controls and instances that impact the business.
  • Responsible for integrating the local business unit into the network and standards (ie, SOX, Cybersecurity, GDPR)
  • Accountable for BU Metrics, Measures, SLAs, outcomes and successes and communication to the BU.
  • Support future acquisitions and integrations from a consulting standpoint.
  • Develop recommendations and strategic initiatives to achieve continuous improvements and synergies, including advising of risks and issues.


Personnel & Talent Management

  • Oversee a solid talent strategy from a BU business relationship perspective including strong development programs, talent pipeline into key roles and a robust sourcing strategy to support growth, in line with local and international (where appropriate) policies and procedures.


Service Delivery

  • Responsible for driving service improvement and cost efficiencies together with capability and solution leads while adhering to European service management procedures and principals.
  • Teams with the capability and solution leaders in responding to business demand and priorities.
