Job description

My client within the public sector currently have a requirement for an internal audit manager. You will be coming from practice or a similar role within the public sector and have a strong audit and ideally internal audit background. You will be qualified with excellent report writing exposure.

• Conducting audit assignments from initiation to completion in line with the Internal Audit Plan
• Preparing detailed plans for performing individual audits including the identification of key risks and controls, determination of audit objectives
• Responsibility for delivery from planning to completion of the programme of work
• Responsibility for the audit issues follow up process
• Presentation of clear, concise working papers in line with International Internal Auditing Standards
• You will assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive risk based annual audit plan
• Drive a policy of best practice with a focus on continuous improvement and awareness
• Develop and maintain productive business relationships across the group
• Develop professional capability through on the job and internal and external training
• Utilise best practice processes and tools for auditing including data analytics
• Perform special audit-related projects

• Qualified Accountant with a strong audit and some exposure to auditing public sector
• Strong risk and controls exposure
• Some exposure to data analytics
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in an audit environment
• Significant experience of controls testing and/or Internal Auditing
