Job description

Job Title: HR Business Partner

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Galway City

The successful applicant will have prior experience of best practice (projects) within a large organisation.

It is also important that this person is hands on and can also focus on the operational aspects of this role.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the HR Manager and Senior Director, Human Resources to provide excellent HR support and expertise
  • Works with business leaders to deliver HR solutions to add value to their business strategy.
  • Update comply with and train clients on HR policies and procedures
  • Mentor, support and provide advice to clients on a regular basis
  • Partners with all employees to drive a culture of engagement, learning, innovation and high performance
  • Builds trust with employees, is accessible and approachable and ensure that their voice is heard
  • Provide leadership on employee relations matters, promoting a collaborative and inclusive approach
  • Promote HR visibility and support to teams across all shifts
  • Complete HR projects as part of the wider HR strategic role
  • Prepare and report data/analytics in all aspects of HR
  • Actively participate and lead the continuous improvement of HR systems, process and applications.
  • Proactively work with Recruitment team to enhance retention and attraction of employees
  • Attend Recruitment fairs, staff events as required to assist clients and drive employee branding
  • Ensure effective use of best practice Lean tools and drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify areas for cost control, system improvements and process improvement opportunities.  
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as required

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Educational experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • A minimum of six years of general Human Resources experience
  • Project management skills a key advantage
  • Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities
  • A general knowledge of all facets of the human resource function in organizations
  • Knowledge of latest HR Policies and best practices and applicable legislation
  • An interest in Learning and Development programmes and initiatives would be an advantage
  • Ability to meet departmental and organizational deadlines and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a basic understanding of human behaviour and motivation and the ability to serve as a staff resource in removing barriers which stand in the way of performance and productivity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to facilitate communication between employees and management
  • Demonstrated PC skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs
