Job description

Due to the expansion of clinical service delivery requirement our public service client is looking to fill a number of vacancies for both, Chief Medical Scientist and Medical Scientist roles. We are recruiting a number of Chief Clinical Scientists and Medical Scientists.

Our client provides specialist services to hospitals throughout the country, including clinical and diagnostic services.

Medical Scientist

Multiple posts available in QC Department, Blood Processing Department, Haematology Department & Blood Genetics Screening Department.

General Requirements

  • Must be eligible for the membership of the AMLS or equivalent.
  • 4 years experience in a medical laboratory.
  • Knowledge of GMP or GLP environment regulations.
  • Experience in maintaining and/or implementing QMS.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements associated with SI360/2005 & SI158/2006

Cheif Medical Scientist

Multiple roles available in Virology & Nucleic Acid Testing Department

General Requirements

  • Eligibility for a fellow of Academy of medical laboratory sciences or equivalent.
  • 7 years experience in working as a medical scientist or equivalent term of laboratory-based posts since qualifying as a medical scientist.
  • People management experience.
  • Knowledge of best laboratory practice, and up to date knowledge in laboratory licensing regulations and quality standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, provide solutions for and implement improvements to a running laboratory and a wider analytical service. This includes pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of the testing process.
  • Experience in test method selection/improvement, analyzer selection/improvement, supply material selection and troubleshooting (calibration, QC, and analyzer reagent).
  • Experience in validation of methods.
  • Oversee the administrative aspect of laboratory management.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements associated with SI360/2005 & SI158/2006
