Corporate Credit Analyst, Team Lead

Corporate Banking

Dublin City Centre

Salary range €80 - 100k

The Job

Responsible for Credit Function of the Dublin Region of this Bank including professional assessment of credit risk of new transactions & the ongoing monitoring of existing loan book.  The role will be a combination of managing own portfolio along with management of the Credit team.

Team Lead responsibilities:

  • Day to day manager of credit team
  • Responsible for quality of credit process & monitoring of credit exposure
  • Provide organisation with professional assessment of financial quality of potential & existing customers. Identify key risks & mitigations applicable to new as well as existing transactions. Monitor & control implementation of credit policies. Meet organisation requirement for first class credit function
  • Responsible for developing & implementing robust credit control framework that delivers quality monitoring of credit exposure & full compliance with regulations as well as bank's policies
  • Responsible for resourcing & maintaining a quality credit team, which provides the organisation with required level of specialised skills & professionalism
  • Facilitates development of successful partnerships with key internal & external stakeholders
  • Advise 'Head of' & European Risk Management on credit related issues
  • Central point of communication for Head Office / European Credit Committee with respect to credit issues
  • Responsible for management of credit administration function which includes inter alia, covenant compliance monitoring, limit monitoring, etc. 
  • Complies with Bank's performance management process
  • Facilitates staff development through a mix of on-the-job experience & training
  • Successfully manages staff's career progression & the organisation's succession planning requirements
  • Promotes an effective two-way communication

Senior Credit Analyst responsibilities:

  • Undertake financial analysis & modelling of existing & potential clients, ranging from large international corporates to Irish mid-capital corporate sector
  • Evaluate credit worthiness of new & existing clients
  • Ability to identify credit, business & structural risks & mitigations
  • Prepare credit submissions in conjunction with Relationship Management, Legal & other areas of the bank
  • Monitoring & control of loan documentation
  • Ensure ongoing client compliance with financial and/or general covenants & rectify breaches where identified
  • Ensure continuous development, implementation & maintenance of internal monitoring & reporting tools
  • Monitor & control implementation of the bank's credit policies
  • Act as point of contact for staff seeking credit advice & ability to set priorities & meet strict deadlines

Experience & Knowledge required:

  • University degree within Finance, Business or Economics
  • 5+ years Credit Management experience in Corporate Banking, dealing with different jurisdictions, client & product types
  • Credit analysis & Credit Risk Management experience including decision making capability
  • Good all round knowledge of the credit market place & be well informed on general economic issues
