Role: Senior Fund Accountant
Salary: €35 - €45k DOE
Location: Dublin 2
Your role as a Senior Fund Accountant:
As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the accounting books and records of your fund clients, act as an intermediary between the funds and the investment advisors, and prepare financial statements and regulatory reports for the funds.
Your specific responsibilities as a Senior Fund Accountant:
You will communicate with the funds’ investment advisors and enter security trades.
You will calculate the funds’ expenses.
You will process shareholder activity and be responsible for reconciling to the funds’ transfer agent.
You will maintain accounting records.
You will perform security and cash reconciliations between the company records and those of the funds’ custodians prime brokers.
You will perform procedures to ensure funds are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
You will compute income distributions and reportable yields.
You will calculate and report the funds’ Net Asset Values (NAV’s).
You will analyse changes in funds’ values in relation to broader market fluctuations.
You will be required to assist with the preparation of financial statements and audits as requested.
You will strictly adhere to established departmental fund accounting processing procedures and controls.
You will meet client and investor reporting deliverables and deadlines.
You will maintain a good working relationship with external clients as well as with internal relationship managers and other business units within the company.
You will train, coach and mentor employees on the team where appropriate.
You will carry out all duties assigned to your role under the Company’s Safety Statement, to ensure Health, Safety and Well being for all employees for whom you have responsibility.
Ad-hoc tasks / projects as required.
12 months+ experience in Fund operations with experience in Alternative Funds.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and manage time to maximize efficiency and to meet strict deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Fluency in the English Language (both verbal and written) essential.
Individual who takes initiative and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Train, coach and mentor employees on the team where appropriate.
Positive ‘can do’ attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented; Team player.
Flexible / Adaptable.
P.C. proficient, particularly regarding Excel and Word.
Third level qualification in Finance or Business.
The preferred skills of the Senior Fund Accountant (Not essential):
Knowledge of Investment (Financial) Services industry in Europe.
Knowledge of the Advent Geneva system.
Knowledge of Sungard InvestOne/ Investier system.
Fluency in a foreign language an advantage (both written and oral)
