Business Analyst - Insurance - Dublin

Job description

We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an IT Business Analyst within a well-known Insurance Company based in West Dublin. This is a very strategic role within the company and you will be responsible for identifying change needs, assessing the impact of change, capturing and documenting requirements and ensuring those requirements are delivered.

Ensuring delivery team understands business objectivesrequirements and project success criteria.

Working closely with the business to identify and maximise opportunities to use information and technology to improve product, service and program business processes.

Draw out requirements and scoping using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, shadowing, site visits and other techniques.

Translating client requirements and scoping using standard UML diagrams and Agile stories.

Collaborating with user experience and design teams to perform traceability of solution to design and business requirements.

Coordinating the development of all approved versions of functional specifications.

Reviewing use cases and other technical documents with the Technical Lead to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.

Reviewing and approving functional test plans, scripts and test cases.

Responsible for the overall success of testing, including results verification and release sign-off.

Facilitates business signoff to the Project Manager to release code to production.

Ensure business understanding of faults identified within the test phases.



3 years’ + Business Analyst experience.

Experience working as a BA on large projects which were cross-functional with significant business impact and covered multiple stakeholders across many organisational levels.

An ability to influence while maintaining relationships with stakeholders from across the business units.

Business Analysis qualification.

Relationship management, being capable of working with all levels within the organisation by building the required relationships.

Ability to continuously improve business analysis processes, tools and templates as required for the projects.

Good analytical skills, identifying issues and their potential root causes, making decisions considering benefits and costs, balances analysis with decisiveness.

Knowledge of software methodologies and the QA function within.

Experience translating client requirements and scoping using standard UML diagrams and Agile stories.

Strong understanding of BA tools & techniques.

Proven Adherence to Governance.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & Visio.

Experience of Agile methodology.
